Vivace RF Microneedling

Mar 16, 2022

Lively. What a beautiful word that can bring up many feelings and emotions. What do you think of when you hear the word, “lively”? Maybe it’s the rush of being on a rollercoaster that makes you feel alive. Perhaps you have an upcoming life event like your wedding or birth of a child that lets you know you are really living your life. Or it may even be the opportunity to slow down, take a few deep breaths and get the chance to reflect that truly reminds you of how lively you are. No matter the case, I’m sure when we imagine those lively moments, we don’t like to imagine them with dull, seemingly lifeless skin.
A few months ago here at H2 Wellness & MedSpa, Dr. Tamara Hanby, D.O. and Kayse Elaine Freehauf, FNP-C, had shared with the staff that we would soon be offering a new treatment called Vivace. I had no clue what this was, but, as someone who grew up training in ballet for over 18 years, I recognized the word, “Vivace”. In Italian musical terms, the word Vivace literally means lively. In the depths of this ballerina’s heart, I knew if this new treatment shared a name with the way I felt after I danced in a “spirited, brisk, lively manner” –i.e. Vivace, that this was gonna be a good one! Enter stage left, Vivace Microneedling Radio Frequency treatment.
With advancements and new procedures hitting the skincare scene as frequently as they do, you may have heard of both micro needling and radio frequency by now. Micro needling is the process of having several tiny needles prick the skin causing very small wounds that encourage the body to reproduce its own collagen. This treatment has also shown to improve with the appearance of acne and acne scarring, fine lines and wrinkles, sun damage and dark spots, and improve overall skin elasticity. With radio frequency, abbreviated as RF, heat is sent into the layers of your skin via energy waves. This process tightens the skin as well as stimulates collagen production. Known as a skin rejuvenation treatment, having the combination of both micro needling and RF in the Vivace treatment is the ultimate 1-2 punch against fine lines, wrinkles, pore size and improving your skin’s overall texture, tone, and tightness. Talk about lively skin!
I was lucky enough to recently experience a Vivace treatment for myself from H2’s very own Senior Esthetician & Laser Technician, Leah Jenkins, so I can share firsthand that this is truly an awesome treatment with virtually no downtime after! To start, a topical cream gets applied to numb the skin in preparation for the micro needles. She then asked if I would prefer Red or Blue light therapy. The Vivace has an option for red or blue LED light therapy in addition to the microneedling and RF. Red for antiaging and collagen and blue for acne/bacteria in the skin. Once the treatment began, Leah performed 2 full passes of the combination micro needling RF over the entire face and under the chin, followed by a third touch up pass to any areas she felt could use it. I received the Vivace treatment for face only, but you can opt to get your neck treated as well. Leah finished by applying a sheet mask full of hyaluronic acid and other healing ingredients to jump start that healing process and instructed me to leave it on for a minimum of 15 minutes. After a few post treatment instructions, such as avoiding sun exposure and exfoliation in the coming days, I was able to then go about working an afternoon shift at the front desk (just sans makeup). My skin did feel tight throughout the rest of the day, but overall, I was able to get the Vivace treatment with zero interruption to my life for the day.
So, who is the Vivace treatment best for? With a varied list of skin concerns that this treatment targets, I honestly can’t think of anyone who wouldn’t be a good candidate for Vivace. Of course, the big ones that come to mind are for those targeting fine lines, wrinkles, elasticity, and tightness. If you are someone who has acne scarring or wants to minimize pore size, this would be a great option. You could even consider getting a jump start on your anti-aging treatments with Vivace, as many experts are recommending we begin to do as early as our 20s and 30s. An average of 3-4 Vivace treatments are typically recommended, depending on your desired results.
Although the Vivace is fabulous as a solo treatment, it duos perfectly with our WiQo peel. For those wanting to tackle the neck area, Leah suggests also using the Revision Skincare Nectifirm Advanced and DEJ Face Cream, before, during, and after your recommended series of Vivace treatments. And of course we love our line of Ortho Molecular Products Vitamins at H2, so taking their Collagen power and/or Collagen Factors will boost your body’s collagen production in addition to the microneeding and RF. Think of them as the backstage tech crew supporting your skin so it can be the true star of the show!
According to realself.com (https://www.realself.com/search?q=vivace), the average cost of a single Vivace Microneedling RF treatment in the US is $875-$1,500 for just the face. If you join us on Saturday, April 2nd for our Vivace VIP Event, you can get both face and neck for $600! RSVP HERE to attend the event and get a free consultation for your treatment. I’ve been loving how lively my skin looks and makes me feel after my treatment! If you’re ready for your skin to reflect the way you feel when you’re celebrating those big moments in life or the peace you feel while sippin’ on your first summer margarita, we’d love to see you at our event!
